Prognosti provides a range of IT services to suit small and medium sized businesses at various stages of their growth.  My formal training was in software development, business administration and project management.  Over the past 22 years I have acquired a wide range of IT skills and certifications, learned many new technologies, and have become familiar with business operations in a wide range of industries.

Planning & Management

I like all of my clients to have some sort of IT plan, even if it is a small 2-3 page point form document.  I have seen a lot of small businesses with no IT plan and the results are usually predictable: money spent on technology that isn't needed, missed opportunities, and reduced competitiveness.  When I prepare an IT plan for a small business I use much of the same methodology and analytical techniques used by larger enterprises, however these are scaled down significantly to fit within the budgets of a particular business.

 
Contract Options

Prognosti provides a range of IT support contract options to meet the needs of clients of various sizes and IT risk levels.

Break Fix Arrangements is a non-contract option that is suitable for very small businesses with minimal IT risk exposure.  When something breaks, you call me and I fix it.  This form of arrangement has higher costs and risks than entering into a service contract.

General Service Agreements define the general terms of an ongoing support contract and are usually accompanies by a lower hourly rate.

Block of Time Agreements are agreements to purchase a certain number of hours of service in exchange for a reduced price.

Managed Services Agreements define a set of services that will be performed at a fixed monthly rate.  Services typically include system monitoring, backup/restore, and server maintenance.

Service Level Agreements define minimum acceptable response time to service calls, minimum acceptable down-time, and provide for penalties if I fail to meet these minimum service requirements.  SLA's require a managed services contract.

I also offer contract options to facilitate intellectual property support, management and transfer. These are only applicable for custom software applications, websites, and other IP development projects.

 
Certifications

Prognosti provides on-site computer and network repair services for small business clients. I have been certified by the Computer Technology Industry Association (CompTIA) and have the A+ and Network+ certificates.  Over the past 4 years I have also invested a lot of time learning how to make some of the advanced features of the Windows Server 2003/8 operating system work for small business:
